The states of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania meet at this geographic point near the confluence of the Delaware and Neversink Rivers. This site is located off East. Main St. in Port Jervis (U.S. Route 6) by the city’s southeast entrance directly where the bridge crosses the Neversink River. The Tri-State rock memorial is accessed by following along the Neversink through Laurel Grove Cemetery to its southern end near where the I-84 bridge passes overhead. Originally called “Carpenter’s.Point” by which Port Jervis was once known, this landmark is named after the enterprising post-Revolutionary War family who are said to have opened one of the area’s first stores, ran a ferry, and are buried here.
